Introducing TrueView

November 8, 2025 09:28 PM

Demo Playback Improvements

A new feature called 'TrueView' has been added to demo playback. This feature aims to show a much more accurate representation of what the player originally experienced during the game. Previously, demos only showed the server's perspective, which could make some shots seem incorrect. TrueView fixes this by re-running the player's client-side predictions, which accounts for network delays and offers a clearer view of events.

Gameplay Changes

This update also includes movement changes that were recently tested in a special beta version of the game. These changes are now officially part of the main game.

Key Considerations for TrueView

There are a few important points regarding TrueView. It will automatically turn off if the game version you are using to watch a demo doesn't match the version used to record it. Even when active, there might still be small differences, especially during slow-motion playback, such as the timing of damage effects. Additionally, if the player you are watching used 'Damage Prediction' during their game, TrueView will also show this in the demo.

Visual Demonstration

A video is included with the announcement to show the difference between the old demo playback method and the new TrueView system.
