Counter-Strike 2 Update
November 8, 2025 09:28 PMGameplay
Fixed issues related to "surfing" movement, including incorrect air acceleration and how slowly surfing up ramps was handled. Also fixed an inconsistency with the "Delay Sniper Rifle Un-Scope after Shot" setting.
Demo Playback
Introduced "TrueView" demo playback, which aims to more accurately recreate the original player's experience by re-running client-side predictions. This feature will also show the effects of Damage Prediction if it was active during the recording. While TrueView improves accuracy, it cannot perfectly match the original timing of rendered frames, especially in slow motion. Reaction effects like recoil and blood splatter might appear slightly delayed compared to the original game. TrueView may not work correctly with older demos and is usually off if the demo's recording version differs from the playback version, though it can be manually enabled using "cl_demo_predict 2". Additionally, issues with choppy third-person animations and a bug causing time to jump forward when unpausing a demo were resolved.
Miscellaneous
Minor animation corrections for the G3SG1 rifle's bolt were made. The developer console's scrollbar now properly responds to mouse clicks.
